What's the difference between marking a folder as addressable and a single file?

I got many sprites in a "RoleSprite" folder, what is the difference between only marking the "RoleSprite" folder as Addressable and marking every single sprite in the "RoleSprite"?

Also, if a sprite changes and uploads to the remote address, the player will only need to download that sprite rather than all sprites in the folder. Am I right?

If there's no difference, Can just mark the root folder including all the assets I need?

    Thanks

Hi @scozirge marking a folder as Addressable is mainly for organizational purposes. So yes there isn't a difference, assets located in an Addressable folder will behave the same as marking the assets individually.

The individual Sprite will be loaded, however you will still be downloading the entire AssetBundle that contains the Sprite.

You could mark the entire root folder as addressable. Just note that there are some consequences to consider if the folder produces an extremely large bundle
