This was a thing that was discussed a couple years ago and even snuck its way into the Changelog of some of the packages. Is it still a thing? Or was the team dissolved just like Tiny?

Thanks for the question! We're currently working on various capabilities for worldbuilding. To start, we've launched a new Spline authoring framework in Unity 2022.2 Tech Stream, which will enable developers and technical artists to create tools for drawing geometry like rivers or roads with custom components. The Splines authoring framework will continue to evolve, with improvements to artists' workflows for spline objects like branching, merging, extruding, and more.

On the topic of Environment workflows, we’re actively working on better artist controls, including overlays for terrain, scattering improvements and managing terrain detail density. We can't share an ETA just yet, but if you have feedback, we'd like to learn more!

Thanks, but I think he is asking the status of Environment System showed in Unite 2020. Which said will be non-destructive workflow and DOTS/ECS support...

Indeed. "Environment System" was a proper noun. I don't care about the classical tools in the slightest, unless they have dedicated ECS features explicitly bolted on.
