What should I use?

    Should I use Visual Studio Code or Visual Studio?

    It probably doesn't matter. Try one. If you don't like it, try the other. They should both do the kind of stuff you'd want to do with Unity. I'd probably lean towards the full Visual Studio, just since I haven't done much with VS Code, and maybe there's some reduced functionality in there somewhere.

    If you're on Windows, use Visual Studio. Unity, when prompted, can install it for you and get it all setup so that it works right out of the box for you.

    Visual Code on the other hand needs some extra lifting on your part to get the debugger and what not setup to work with Unity. I bet someone has streamlined the process, but it still requires more than 1 step just because it's not... "Unity installs it all for you".

    If you're on mac or linux... well you can't use Visual Studio (though technically I think they call the IDE in mac "Visual Studio for Mac", but it's not actually visual studio but rather a reskinned monodevelop). In those cases I'd probably opt for Visual Code.
