What is this Packages doing in my Assets ? Is that a virus ? The strangest thing I ever saw.

So far I used EditorWindow script but few minutes ago without and alert I have strange stuff in the Assets in the Editor. I see now a new folder name Packages I can't figure out where it came from but for 100% I didn't import any packages at all.

Second when I put the mouse on it and right click I can't delete it:



This is how the Packages looks like, Very strange thing:



Another strange thing but maybe it's connected to this Packages is that in the Scene view window I have this blue thing like a line or something that if I click on it it will be blue if not clicking on it it's black. Not sure what it is. It's not an object in the Hierarchy. Not sure where it came from.

I tried to restart the Unity over again but nothing same strange stuff.



I'm using unity3d 2018.2.5f1 Personal. And windows 10 home 64bit version 1803.

I see the Packages folder on the Hard disk now but when I make double click to get inside I see only one small file: manifest.json

And I was working and working with json file format to save and load but I can't figure out what is going on in the scene view and in the assets.

I tried to delete the Packages folder from the hard disk but then when back to the editor I keep see the Packages in the Assets and then I see the folder again in the hard disk too but again in the hard disk it have one small file but in the editor under Packages I see a lot of stuff including many scripts. What is going on here ?

 

Yes I saw it. But this thing in the scene view that when I click on it and it become blue in my second screenshot. What is that ? Is that related to the Package Manager as well ?

 

I have a script in the Editor folder a EditrWindow script type. It was working fine until this Packages thing came up.
Now when I try to open the EditorWindow: Tools > Test

Test is the editorwindow it's coloring this thing in blue I show it in the second screenshot.
I'm not sure what is this blue thing in the sceneview but it's getting blue each time I'm trying to open the EditorWindow script from the menu.

If I uninstall some of the packages from Packages then I can open and see the EditorWindow but this thing in the sceneview still there.

What a mess and I didn't have it few hours ago. It's all just happened at once without any alert or any preview message.
Can'y figure out what is this thing in the scene view window. Strange.

 

Here is a screenshot of the full editor. When I click on this thing in the scene view. It does not have any inspector or properties.

 

It happened before I uninstalled some of the packages from Packages. But I re installed them back now. Still this strange this appears. I was working on the new unity version for some times now and never saw this Packages thing. It came up now up from no where. Maybe I messed something else with the EditorWindow but this not explain the strange thing in the scene view window.
