I need a Mac and I am wondering if this base 1.4GHz Mac Mini is sufficient for developing and iOS/OSX game that is not so heavy. Think something between Angry Birds and Clash Royale level graphics.

    This is my mac mini:
    Late 2012
    2.3 GHz Intel Core i7
    8GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536 MB

I can run anything fine. I would recommend finding a mac mini with similar specs above on the refurbished section. Just, whatever you do, DON'T go below 8 GB ram.

I have that one and it seems to be fine. I got mine cheap but if I was paying a regular price I'd try and get the next model up with 8gb of RAM and a faster processor.

Yeah, I have the same mini you have, but with 16GB (since RAM was really cheap at the time). Definitely don't regret that. I've also got a mid-2014 MBP with 8GB RAM/128GB SSD. It's a bit tight, but considering upgrading that drive now that OWC have replacements.

Uh oh. Here I am usually recommending good hardware and my answer to this question is anything but.

    Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.13GHz
2GB DDR2-800 (will be upgrading this eventually to an amazing 4GB)
    NVIDIA GeForce 9400M
    120GB SSD

Sad I know but it was the cheapest Apple machine I could find that was capable of the latest OS X for XCode. It manages to get a whopping 30 FPS in the rolling ball scene included in the Standard Assets examples.

I wouldn't ever get anything lower than an 8 Core 4.6GHZ, 32 gigs of ram, Radeon R9 290 lol.
I fell in love with it, can't go lower than that ever again lol.
