Question What is "sourcecontrol" ?

    Hi there!

    I working on my project and it show me this icon "sourcecontrol" in Unity Hub
    I don't know what is it?

    as you see my screenshot the other projects not have this icon.



    Actually, at first I used to work with Collaborate feature for working with my Team,
    But, after Unity was changed from collaborate to (plastic SCM) it not work anymore..
    so I stop using it and never use it,
    But why it still have a "scourecontrol" in my project list?

    so how do I disable or remove this soucecontrol ?

    Hi @Rachan - Have you uninstalled Version Control Package in the project?

    Hi Rachan!

    That little "Source Control" bubble means that your project called "Santhai" is using Plastic SCM.
    Your other team members are able to look at your project, download it on their computers and work on it (if you gave them permission to do so).

    You can find many configuration settings in your Unity dashboard here: https://dashboard.unity3d.com
    Just click on DevOps in the left bar and then, the Plastic SCM option.

    But I really want to remove it? I don't want to use it anymore
    I have to remove Version Controller asset in Package Manager?

    I going to disable the project in plastic SCM and the sourcontrol icon has gone!

    You may choose not to use the integrated source control package called PlasticSCM. There are many different Source Control solutions, and PlasticSCM might not be right for you. But it's kind of like "I want to play motorcycle sports without a helmet. I removed my helmet and left it in the garage."

    Source Control, as a concept, is not just sharing code with other people. Source Control is basically like making backups, but for every time you make a change in your game that you like. Edit a file and something no longer works, and you don't remember what you changed? Source Control can SHOW you the change, or UNDO the change. Upgrade some part of your system and your project seems broken? Source Control can help you get it back. There are other ways to make backups, but none as powerful as source control.
