What Is On (Secret) Sale?

At least we are talking about sales!!

 

I disagree as someone who runs a company, to be able to afford all those assets and tools like MAYA out side of Unity, substance ETC, I buy 90% of my assets on sale, I don't buy art assets typically, I buy tools that extend the engine, and some that save time, code based. But if I paid full price for all my assets, some of us would never finish our game.... That is part of business is looking for deals if you can... Not saying I never paid full price, but I typically don't I also do not stock pile assets...I used them already in many games... and had other on my team , investors buy the assets, as I know SOME cheat and buy it once..We actually don't allow that... Just saying.. So I find this info to be false, I also deal with many developers who do the same thing and use in there games, THEY buy on sale only mostly...

On topic, Thanks for the update for the secret sales, this helps alot as many of us buy stuff on sale.... Puppet Master is on sale, Mapity, Script Inspector 3.

 

The Asset Store folks implemented an "On Sale" filter, which is helpful for the big sale going on right now without a master list:

Yeah, but you get ALL of them! That doesn't help. I was able to choose the model category to narrow it down but not the other categories. The one posted here is much better. http://www.assetstoresales.com/?show=feature&category=

You can add "&category:#" to the end of the URL to narrow it down to a category. Unfortunately you need to know the category number. To get the category number, clear the filter and click on a category in the right-hand list. For example, if you click on Scripting it will go to this URL:

The category number is 2. You can add that to the end of the on_sale URL:

Definitely don't need the category id, just add the on_sale:yes filter, then click one of the options over on the right to filter it down. You can dig down into like, just 3D Models -> Vehicles -> Air if you want to see just those ones on sale. This is pretty great.

 

Don't know when official 30% sale ends. But mine personal 50% in 5 days.

Going off what I've picked up in other threads, Sunday (today) is the final day for this wave.

Tomorrow begins a second wave that will run Monday-Sunday.

Some items currently on sale may also be on sale next week.

(Disclaimer: I have not seen any official word on this sale yet, but some people reported they received an email from Unity describing this two-wave pattern.)

I actually browsed all 209 pages of the sale the other day.

BTW, if you need modern ships for a small scale military or spy adventure, there's a sale going on for some of Ruslan Nazirov's models, which include the aforementioned ships. What is not at first obvious about these ships is they have moving parts you can control (to spin propellers, rotate guns, etc.), plus some weapon FX, plus the ability to pick from some camo colorings, and even (not sure why, but it's there) a dissolve shader (Philadelphia Experiment?).

Anyway, I thought it looked interesting and thought I'd pass it on.
