What is doing Unity while importing audio files?

    I have downloaded some background audio files and it is taking some serious time importing them to Unity.
    What is Unity doing and how can I improve this?

    Most of the time is spent compressing the audio for the current platform. The longer the file, the longer it takes to compress. Not much you can do about it, though it's faster in Unity 5.
