Hello there I have some questions that I was hoping that the community could answer for me. I have "some" knowledge of C# and unity and I am looking to create a game with unity however im not sure if its possible.

Me and a friend want to create a game that is in the style of free to play games (like clash of clans) so basically MMO strategy games but we want to make the game truly free (no IAP and no advertisements) This will be a hobby for us not a career.

So my question is whether it is possible to make this type of game with unity or will I have to find another game engine? Also does anyone have any resources or information regarding how to create a game like this.

    Thankyou for you time.

You can create any type of game as you are only limited by your skills. MMO games however are not something you start with as they require wide range of skills no matter what engine is used. If we are talking about Clash of Clans type of game the planning the basic infrastructure for online networking, database and other non code things is a task of its own before you even get to start coding for good unless you planning to have only few players playing.

Like I said I have "some" knowledge of C# and im willing to learn more and more as time goes. Im not planning on making the game exactly like clash of clans just the idea of it. Other games that seem similar are games like travian or the the hobbit: kingdoms of middle earth they also interest me in making a this game.

I imagine only a handful of people will be playing it like I said im not planning on making money out of it we just want to make a game that we can say we made and play along with our friends.
