i find just looking at stuff in Unity is quite good for seeing how things are going to look! If youre talking about a final product, oncce you have your diffuse, normal and lightmaps sorted just roam around with a camera in gameview and press printscreen when you like something

Such is the beauty of lightmapping, whatever's in Unity tends to look much the same as it did in Vray cept a bit of aliasing

Finished yesterday the vornoi based mesh fracturing, I am really happy with the results, almost happy enough to put it finally into Unity :)

Ohh that is great! I'll be looking forwards to checking it out! You said you had some speed improvements going on too and that with some fancier fracturing will have me playing around with it for ages

My only beef with piecemaker at the moment is that even on my i7 there's a lag between a 'whole' mesh being replaced with he fractured bits, esp a couple of 'levels' in, if thats no longer an issue and bits are breaking apart like that i'm very happy, cause if I can get it working with Gustavs shadows nicely both his shadows and piecemaker are going to play large roles in my next 'big' project

I've vray for that but if I want to know what something will actually look like in a game, makes sense to just do it in unity. Sometimes i send it to my phone to see how it looks on the screen.

Ivanzu i meant to ask, do you know how to set the environment colour/map in vray without it contributing to the lighting in a scene?

Humm, well im a bit busy atm i'm celebrating another year in this mortal coil, but i can try in a bit. It's pretty much standard and untouched though, if i set the environment colour the entire scene is tinted with the colour, like it contributes to the ambient colour or GI, i have the global tint to white underneath, if that makes a difference

Every time i set a bitmap map as a background it shows through slightly, which is quite annoying but im assuming there's a good reason for it

Actually here's an example, rather than composite in photoshop i rendered the orange bars directly over the background photograph and you can see it showing through (Sorry not game related)

I'm in the beginning stages of a space-based game of some kind. Just testing the turret tracking system right now. I need to add angle limits but its working the way I want so far.

WASD to pitch/roll. Mouse click for thrusters. The flight controls are pretty wacky, but that's not my concern at this point.

Game artists tends not to smooth their low polygon model while it is WIP. Because it is easier to see the volume, edge loops and polygon distribution this way.

Sword on the left seems a bit "short" on the blade part proportion wise.

I finally got my copy of Zbrush 4R2 and I am very impressed so far... and since i got my hands on it, I've been working on the fish that will inhabit the water during the fight... I am thinking of having it very mutated and ugly, still working on the details and such...

I'm actually really interested in Zbrush 4R2, tried out Dynamic sculpting or whatever yet? sounds like a cool feature, wondering if its at all like the tessellation in Sculptris

Yup...i am using Dynamic Sculpting :)... and it is kinda like Sculptris except that it is not an automatic process... this will also make modelling characters extremely good since you can push and pull out a form and then it will dynamically clean itself up
