Oh man, thanks you two. :)
The blizzard comment made my day, that's like the biggest compliment you can get. I'd really like to work at blizzard, although I think I need to push my skills a bit further for that. Oh well I'm not stopping on working on game-art anytime soon, so I can only dream.. :p

It's funny you bring up blizzard because the thing I'm currently working on is very much starcraft inspired.

Cool beans... is it an active combat system? Or an auto-attack kind of thing?

I actually do an overlapsphere to collect a list of all enemies within attack range, then check the angle between the enemy and the player to see if they're in a 60 degree arc in front of the player.

Taking the tree creator for a spin :) I must say, it is a pretty impressive tool... and it looks WAY more natural than the soft occlusion... thoughts?

Been working on some sprite tools (adobe air for mac and pc). Part of that tools collection is a SWF grabber that analyses a assigned SWF file and predicts tweens for properties such as x, y, rotation, alpha, scaleX, scaleY for all appearing elements in the movie. All graphics are getting rendered into sprites together into a texture atlas and are referenced in the tween and dom tree data that a exported XML file defines.

Right now I am working on a flash generated code to playback this data, once I can verify that the exported XML data is correct I will be writing a Unity script or exporter that will generate a c# script where each movieClip or Sprite will become a gameObject.

Not a bad looking tree... and yes, i can see how hard it is to get the trees looking nice, but some of the branches on the tips are a little on the thick side... and to get around the blockiness of the tree, you will have to physically scale the model to like .3 in XYZ and adjust the LOD...

I'm close to wrapping up our first real game, a free daily trivia app for iOS and Android titled Trivium Per Diem.

TPD will have a new quiz everyday and we will periodically allow players to create questions and upload them for review to be included in future quizzes. GameCenter achievements and leaderboards on iOS plus our own leaderboard/achievement system for Android and iOS. It's been fun and a great learning process. Prime31's plugins and UIToolkit have been extremely helpful.

I made the ends of the branches thicker instead of pointed, by default, but using the graph in the radius setting.
Not sure how scaling the tree to .3 would change anything but he size of the tree.
After going back in to make some adjustments, the trunk is now invisible and nothing I have tried changes it.
If I cannot find out why the trunk is invisible I'll have to delete the whole tree and start again.

    Looks cool.
How long and how many worked on it?
Encourage those of us still on our way to finishing our first (real) game.

I have a guy who made the GUI graphics and I bought the background model from a vendor on the forums.

All of the server side stuff (php and mysql) and all of the unity scripting was done by me in spare time over the last few months. I started over at one point, switching from UnityScript to C# and using UIToolkit once it came out. Al in all, about 100 hours I guess. Next time I will do a better job of tracking time.

i'm starting out a little platformer

I think that tree will have to go, though, I just need to get the art style...if I'm not satisfied with the art, I lose all my inspiration

Almost done with making Atlantis... (I would kill to have Unity Pro right about now...) and save myself the pain of saving multiple cubemaps and switching them in code, but I think i have the quality I am seeking... The tree are shaping up... i may even add some more... need some small pebbles and grit

I'm thinking of starting an iPhone game, twin-stick style, except with swords and button combos and what-not... Here's some concept art for the main character, the "Guninja"

Face is 944 verts, eyes will be lower poly than they are here. Once I'm satisfied with proportions and everything else i'll give her some hair, she seems a bit troubled without it! :)

Ben4views: looks good man! Fiddle around with the vertex bone assignments around the knee there to minimise or avoid that sort of pinching at the more extreme angles.

Sollthar: that is insanely cool! Keep it up!

    Dogzerx: love that cat! haha

Yeah, guess the Pro water would come in handy.
Have you tried the community ocean shader (I,personally, know nothing about it, but seen it mentioned a number of times)?
Here are a couple of topics talking about water shaders for non-Pro users.

If you dont have Pro version, only fog will make it look better. Just make some underlaying fog under water surface.

How would I go about doing that? :)

I'll look into this... and if it's that smart water, I will have to pass on that... when the game is running, the water looks phenomenal because the camera is mounted perfectly where i want it... i haven't moved my camera in the game view, but I will keep my NI_Water. :)
