    Some wierd worm i have been doing lately.



    Type 54, isnt really good texture since its my first weapon.

    I've just registered so Hi All!

    I'm taking a break from Animation to play around with Unity. I've just started my first 3rd-Person low-poly character, which is a first for me as I've recently been doing modelling for full animation. I intend to get it animated and into Unity, it will be a Inventor/ Professor type character when done.

    cacysunlee: Looks nice. Have you thought to try Unity's lightmapping on that project? I think it could look very nice that way.

    @Zenchuck Thats really interesting. If you could pinch some gameplay a bit more that could be very fun game.

    @janpec: nice shader for the bug!

    Gun texture looks great, I'd only put some scratches on the edges!

    I'm just starting on a space exploration game. I'm currently working on the build and movement system.

    Test 1 is up and the project is there for download. I would be interested in any comments or thought on it.

    Nice, although the movement is quite slow, and I'm not really fond of the arrow keys. Maybe a click movement system insead?

    I like the worm, but Tokarev should be black and not grey, at least the one i own (and all the others i have seen), and speculars should go down a lot. Otherwise, a good model.

    This thread was almost off the first-page so I'll give it a bump. Still working on a character model. An Inventor. I'm going to push on and hopefully get this animated and in Unity. If it works out to a good standard I'll upload it.

    your guns are pretty impressive, I'm not so good at low poly modeling anymore... been a long time, but how do you start your guns, from a smoothed primitive, or from a specific extrusion?

    I usually start at the mag with a cube. And then I bevel the cube.. I bevel almost every part of the gun and I model it part by part with beveled cubes :)

    It's the antenna on top. The building, of course, is still actually under construction, but hey, it looks cool.

    Depending on where it's used, that might not as high as you think (FPS games usually throw a fair amount of polys at the player weapons since its something that can be seen all the time). That being said, there are a few places you could easily lower the count by moving details from model to texture/bump (some of the panel work on the sides and the 'ridge' work along the top)

    Still looks nice though :)

    Very very nice!

    The "rod" could use a different reflection map, tho! But the garage is nice!

    Why not use Blender? Just as free as a torrent and far more stable. It's just as powerful and once you learn it, the sky is the limit.
