What's up everybody, and happy holidays... after a few sleepless nights working on the primary outfit, I finally got him into Unity... and he is looking awesome with just normal maps... with a bit more tweaking involved, I will be done with the first outfit... Now comes the long texturing process :)... and shader tweaking to get the feeling of cloth.

Here are some captures of the normal map tests, and a size comparison to another character, Trident... Warlock vs.Gladiator (OH S***!), who will win?? I love games that truly show the physicality of it's characters ... $Normal-AO Render.jpg

Progress on my character controller script. I was finally able to get him to grab ledges and hang on to them. I am currently trying to figure out how to make him face the direction he is moving, just like in the 3rd character controller asset with the construction worker that come with Unity, so if anyone could help me with that it would be Awesome!! =D

Chickens. Player will be able to purchase chickens from farmers or in towns, chickens provide eggs for daily food, and also can be slaughtered for meat.

@titanty yes tiger is for that game too:D

Hey everyone. I am still working on getting this man to look aged and withered. Here, I am having some fun making a young man look really old...not there yet but I will get there... this is my 3rd attempt on the model being aged and this is closer to his actual face... I think I need to go older, much older... almost like the walking dead. At this point in Xaviers' lifespan, his powers have grown to immense strength, but has inadvertently cause him to age more quickly. That is one hell of a trade off... he needs to look at least 120 years old. $Xavier Pendragon Old Man.jpg

Janpec, that is amazing artwork, that face alone could pass for over a 1000 polys.

Uchiha, nice work. Can you explain a bit how you accomplished the ledge grabbing? That's something I've always wanted to explore.

Great animals, janpec! Are you using some special shader?

Taking a break from the scifi indie game I'm working on,
I'm now doing some handpainted assets for a little side scrolling game for a client.

You seem to have a sniper's eye ;)
For the concrete, I used a textured brush. And then painted some extra highlighted rims. So I don't know if that's technically "hand painted" or not, but it got the job done.
However, I was as planning to cartoonify that part a bit more. The noise looks a little too fine-grained.

Yep, I've noticed your work earlier, good stuff.
Perhaps you could try to used some kind of slightly textured brush too to introduce some subtle color variations in the table.

When are going to texture your crossbow? I already told you it looks phat :)

    Very good!!!!
But I think you should stop using that blue light or something like that as it "blurs" the image.

It looks relay good :D for my game im trying to keep things kind of basic becase i like the look, and it lets me make lots of assets faster. but i will use your advice on my other pictures and models :D. Im leving the crossbow for later as i just got into texturing and as its the main part of my game(will always be seen) i want it to look the best it could :)

Ah, come on man, you can push that texture way further! Decide on a generic light source and get some proper highlights and shadows in there. Some colour variation, etc.

Check out this post (both the image he links to and the image/explanation in the post itself) for pointers.

Sounds interesting, I'd like to see your progress. :)
How are you planning to implement it?
Such as, you have an A major chord in the view, how do each of the spheres get to the correct position
(not the programming, but) by the player, such as interface and interaction?
This is also a left-handed instrument and the strings are all the same size.

I didn't notice I had that A in the wrong place there...hehe. I have only just made the visuals out of unity primitives. No code yet.

They will click to select the spheres, then add that selection to a group, then they can re-order the groups and choose the delay between them. Then when they hit Play it will just go through the groups, highlighting them red. The idea would be to time it to a song and put it on Youtube to help people. I don't plan it to be an audio player/synthesizer, but I guess that's possible if I record each note.

I guess I will have a selector that will preselect chords too.

The spheres are in the correct position for an A Major chord on a left-handed fretboard, so they are in the correct place.
Just thinking a bit, you could have the spheres (one for each string) and have them out of view
(maybe in the head of the neck of the guitar or something) until the player clicks an area on the fretboard,
then the sphere on that string could animate down the neck to the position clicked with a text readout showing what note it is on the fretboard.
Just thinking on my own, of course.
