Nice work, I use to use 100 also, but not sure how many users prefer this or changes to these settings..Currently I'm happy with the 30-50 settings as we dont want to over do, because on mobile iOS will require lot scrolling ;-) writing from iPhone..So some balance is perfect :) thank you

I agree that it should go farther back. I could have sworn it did when the forums were first switched over, but now it won't go farther than 10 pages (actually 7, now). If there has to be a limit, shouldn't it be based on time (like maybe a couple of days) rather than pages?

I haven't noticed any other indication of this, but can you guys change your avatar images? I tried changing mine, and it looked alright, but after a while revisiting the forum it looks like it reverted to my old avatar image. Would like to ask because maybe it's just my proxy server here acting up.

I've seen this happen too. It doesn't revert as easily as other settings, but I've definitely had my avatar revert to a previously uploaded one once.

Nice little summary video - I didn't know we could have multiple people in conversations!
I'm really enjoying how the Watched Thread/Alerts work together. It's very handy when reply to Support or Scripting threads to just watch them if I'm expecting a reply and just unwatch them when an issue reaches a conclusion :)

I had this too on the first few days of the forum, but after I switched to using Gravatar the issue has gone for me.

    Aurore,

If I go to the forums, the one thing I am going for 99% of the time is to see the latest post that is not pinned.

Yet, in order to see that, I actually have to scroll down.

    Starting from the top:

First I see a link to my profile, sign out and language
Then the site menu with a search button
Then "Forums" and another search button (why 2 search buttons?)
    then some padding
    then breadcrumbs
then a forum menu, another profile link (why 2? why different?)
then the discussion title (maybe this could be part of the breadcrumb?)
then a small text that nobody reads
    then pagination,
Then the header of the forum table
    then way too many stickies,
And then what I actually came for, but I have to scroll down to see it.

So how about a little usability improvement? is there really a need to display all that stuff before what people really want to see? could it not be a little leaner?

I see, but I don't want my images to be resized at all. In the old forum, I was able to insert images as-is and still use alignment on them. This is now broken.

Is it possible to change the Alert text to have only the name of the poster and the thread name in bold and to have the rest of the text normal? Right now it's kind of hard to "extract" the important information out of an alert.

I should have found this thread earlier.

The first thing I did when I saw the new forum software, was to update my Dark Skin for Unity Sites, to apply to the new forum style too. And luckily, the classes for sticky posts are already there, so I made them a darker shade of grey than the rest.

Unfortunately, the avatars with transparency use a white background by default, but now that I know where to report bugs, I'll send a mail. Even though it's a minor aesthetic issue.

A standard skin would probably be even better, because I would have to maintain the custom skin anymore ^_^.

Now, to quote everyone asking for a dark theme, to make use of the notification system ;)
Yup, I'm doing so now ;)

The Developer Preview forum no longer looks locked, even though it is. That needs to be made clear again. And why wasn't it moved to the bottom, out the way? The revamp was the ideal opportunity.

Just checked again, and now the alignment of images attached as thumbnails is broken too. Both thumbnails and full images are block elements *sigh*
Is there at least any workaround for the now impossible task to center an image?.. This just makes no sense to me, as
    1) It worked fine at the old forums.
    2) It is displayed as it should in the preview, but not in the saved post.
What is the whole point of making images to be block elements anyway?

Can you post a link and a screenshot to this? (I recognise the irony in that)

    https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/12721305/Screenshots/2014-06-16_14-22-57.png

As you can see, there is a logo image attached in the OP, one is full, second is thumbnail, both are inside "Align Center" block, but are actually both block elements, and have no alignment.
UPD: You can also look at this:
    http://forum.unity3d.com/threads/swift-shadows-released.226227/
before the forum upgrade, it had "Swift Shadows" logo centered and three clickable screenshot thumbnails underneath it in one row.

That is really weird, usually when you attach and select a full image it shouldn't then have a thumbnail underneath it, thanks for bringing this up.

Ah actually I can see by editing the post that the image is actually attached twice, do you remember the steps you took to reproduce this?

Sorry for confusement, I've meant that I've attached both a full image and a thumbnail on that page, just to demonstrate that both full image and thumbnail are block elements and have no alignment.

On the forum main page using Firefox, loading is constantly spinning, like its trying load something in the background but fails to do so, anyone else notice such behavior?

Hello, I'd like to see under 'Forum Browsing Preferences' an option for no Avatars, even realizing what a fabulous fashion statement Lurch is.

If it's possible, I'd love to have a fixed-bottom or fixed-top navigation bar. Basically it'll contain the 'next/previous page' buttons andpage numbers and maybe a few other essentials that should always be easily accessible. Please have the web dev team consider that :). I haven't seen many forums do this, so maybe you guys can start the trend :D.

Especially for threads, does no one ever feel annoyed scrolling around to find the previous and next button?

By the way thanks Aurore and Unity Web Dev team for improving the community and forums! You guys even supplied a video tutorial just for Unity forums, bravo for your hard work and care for the community.

I just tried to edit my signature

and I am getting an error message

I understand that you are restricting the overall size, but in my opinion you overshoot on this one. I am trying to have a compact and yet still readable and understandable signature.
When the new forum was launched, the signatures were by far too prominent due to the spacing, font size and color. But now it seems a good solution was found for that, that's why I hope we get some more freedom regarding signatures again.

Kind of wondering about the signature stuff myself too. If I try to edit my signature I fall foul of both the line and link restrictions, yet don't feel my sig is a real 'offender' when it comes to taking up space (scroll a few posts up and you can see one of the worst ones...)

Perhaps making sigs use a smaller font size by default might let you ease the restrictions a bit?

So we need to come to some middle ground here, it was complained about that signatures were too big and linky, now they're too small and too...unlinky (?)

    Right now it's 3 Lines, 4 Links.

In the first days when the forum was launched, the signatures were far too prominent. I understand it, that this was the main cause for the negative reactions. Personally, I don't see a reason to restrict the numbers of links, but having a restriction on the numbers of lines, certainly makes sense.
I personally don't see a reason to restrict it to just 3 lines. I think this could easily be doubled to 6 without getting too annoying.

I also don't get why having restriction to number of links. Having restriction to lines certainly makes sense

3-4 lines seems like plenty to me. But yeah, restricting the number of links doesn't seem very relevant. The issue was excessively big signatures; nobody complained about links that I remember.
