I assume everyone will just convert there projects, as they (unity/flash) probably want to showcase the best projects not something made in 2 weeks

Can I install this 3.5 beta and still have 3.4 pro fully workable or it will overwrite 3.4 settings in registry etc.?

I could do the same, but I won't insert a commercial thing into a contest ever.

Maybe you can install 3.5 under another folder like its another app?! I dont know about registry keys though, may be an issue there.
hmm.. I will download windows version and leave 3.4 on Mac.

Yeah, just rename the 3.4 folder before installing 3.5.

Not explicitly covered in the FAQ, but if a project is upgraded to 3.5 beta, will it simply load up and be upgraded to 3.5 final when it's released? (I'm guessing so, but would like to be sure).

Yes, projects should smoothly transition from beta releases to the final 3.5 release.

We've moved over to it in our production environment. Risky, but if S*** happens, I'll just download 3.4 again.

hippo, you can't reliably downgrade a project form 3.5 back to 3.4 so please be careful with this.

Anyone got terrains to work in Flash? After I exported, the terrain simply wasn't there and all the grass was suddenly gone from my project (I couldn't even place grass after building for Flash).

Sigh. HTML5 isn't going to replace Flash, it's a mediahype. Badly informed journalists starting one thing after another and now it's just people who believe HTML5 is god and Flash sucks. HTML5 simply isn't ready for games yet, and it will take years before it is.

Weird.. I thought that I replied to this thread, but apparently I didn't. Well, anyway.. love the idea of flash support.. at last we can play those games on Linux now. Only problem is.. isn't flash getting replaced by html5? (not anytime soon, but its getting there)

So what will happen to the Flash support once html5 takes over? Or is html5 simply using a different form of flash or its own version of it?

Sigh... It seems a kid invaded the topic...

@topic, I think all the hype about HTML5 is because of a blog post by Steve Jobs, dunno when.

Html5 is not a replacement for Flash. It just includes some functionality that was up until now done with Flash.
Flash still does a lot more than html5. The media haven't really explained this well. Sensational titles like "html5 will replace flash" don't help either.

ok, but will we be able to publish to flash in the standard version or is it going to be a Pro only thing? (would look this up, but I have no idea where to look)

There has been no informations released for which licenses it will land or if it will be an own one.
The current one is a flash tech preview, no release of flash or anything alike

Thanks, makes you wonder how much its gonna cost. Has someone already tried the flash game on a phone that support flash? I'm kinda curious if it works.

Stage3D does not exist for mobiles, its windows - osx - linux only.
Also flash mobile is officially 'dead', Adobe will not work on it any longer so stage 3d is not gonna happen.

what this means is: mobile games = you get a mobile addon license or you don't go there
