I would like to come up with a website similar to http://www.ketchappstudio.com or http://www.sanachev.com

Basically something really simple where I can show my name, how to reach me and then list my products. Nothing fancy.

I'm a total noob when it comes to website design. I've tried a bunch of wordpress themes but it seems like I don't have that much control over the few elements that I want to implement. e.g. I can't choose the fonts, I'm forced to put header images that are way bigger than I want, I can't set the color of everything. I'm not sure if that's a common limitation or if I'm just clueless/not digging at the right places.

Any idea what service I could use, if I should use one? Was wordpress the way to go?

It's a gray-zone question where I get that it's not exactly related to game dev. Possibly some others here could benefit from this?

A good place to get started (and cheap) is just to use google sites:
    https://sites.google.com/

EDIT: They offer free "site creation" tools, but also for pretty cheap will host your domain and site.

And yeah, that solved it for me. I'm glad I asked. Thank you!
