Webplayers open Quicktime?

    For a while now I've been having an odd problem: any webplayer will open quicktime instead of behaving normally. Has anyone else ran into this problem? I have re-installed the webplayer several times already. Running 10.5.6 and Safari v4 public beta (5528.16). Firefox works normally when I open a webplayer with it.

    Flip4Mac WMV player can cause this problem, you can solve this by disabling the browser plugin for it
    my brother had this problem and so did i when i updated it, disabling only the browser plugin should fix it
