The Develop awards happened last night and I couldn't be prouder to say that we took home the Best Engine award. We were up against the CryEngine, GameMaker, Unreal 4 & Project Anarchy, all incredibly powerful and amazing tools. We really owe all of our success to you, your passion and creativity is what drives us forward so thank you for being the greatest and best community around <3 (Left to right) Mo, Cathy & Andy from the Brighton office on stage
I know you said the community helped so I'd like to thank you all for having me here and most importantly because of my sheer awesomeness and fine caliber I accept your thank you as an acknowledgement that I am the best community member and I am indeed humbled but not surprised that you guys won because of me......................wait........I'm I asleep? ^.^ Great stuff guys. Congrats to all at unity for this fine piece of kit.
Hell yes! I knew we'd snag that award any time of the year. UNREAL AND CRYENGINE CAN EAT MY S***! UNITY FTW! *DISCLAIMER* No offence intended to unreal and cryengine. Just celebrating and enjoying the mood.
Actually its 100% down to me. When I visit the offices, I expect a non stop procession of tea and so forth. I expect Aurore herself to serve it with paper napkin! (grats guys, well earned!)
I am also looking forward to pushing Unity graphically as well... hell, I may even work there as a creature designer. (I can dream)
Hey, can we celebrate with a party? You bring me a copy of Unity Pro and I'll supply the drinks! Sounds fair to me! Congrats fine people!
I know how to celebrate...... TF2 with the whole Unity Team. We could like totally play some online game altogether (or a game made with Unity) lol. Congrats! just testing to see how small the font can get.
Congrats. Its crazy to see how close some of the other engines are trying to compete with Unity. Well done!
Very well deserved, in my opinion. "Best Engine" should mean best all-round, and Unity is definitely the clear winner there.
Job well done and keep up the good work P.S. It seemed fitting to create the text image in Unity. All done in Unity - No external tools used period.
OK. Cynical hat on... How much did it cost to enter the Develop Awards/attend the event/buy the champagne? Because if it cost more than £0 I think the real winners here are... The Develop Awards!
