Just a thing I've been working on a bit over the last few days.

It was mainly a small project to expand my modelling/texturing experience, but if anyone thinks they would use it in their projects I might stick it on the asset store.

The design was based on Mad Max, general Sci-fi vehicles and the StarCraft 2 Hellion.

Currently it's textured within Substance Painter so the textures are baked out. I'm considering making a Substance for it for more flexibility.

It did have a turret in the back, but I thought a selection of weapons could work better in the future.

What do you think of the forms, current textures, overall appeal? Any feedback would be appreciated!

The metal chrome bits are pretty clean for that type of vehicle, in that type of environment. Consider rusting/dirty-ing it up a little with maybe some markings and customized wrappings or something to break up the metal tubular look.

Also the back tires - the way they are split looks kinda odd. I understand the look you were going for, however I think it doesn't really add anything to the overall design. Consider just a solid big fatty knobby mudder for the back tires instead.
Adding some scuffed exposed metal to the raised painted edges could be a nice touch as well.

A custom decal overlay would be really nice touch to add a customized logo/symbol to the side of the buggy.

    Overall pretty cool design.

Thanks for the lengthy feedback, exactly what I was looking for! I think I'll be doing a full separate pass on both tires anyway as they need to be separate for physics to work.

For the back tires, did you mean the split down their center? Think that was a artifact from trying to add tire grip details (which wasn't done great). It was meant to be one solid tire, but "double" tires would be very Mad Max. But yeah, was originally aiming for one fat one.

Yeah - It looks like you went for a duelie look. Double tires would look very Mad Max as would a big ol mudder with high deep worn treads.
