Hey, guys, I am creating medieval RTS game but I reached the point when I need medieval models with simplest animations (buildings, knights, archers, etc.).

So does anyone know if there is any forum or website, where people would be creating and discussing about such medieval models?

these two are almost empty with no furums and discussions at all. Turbosquid seems to find some models, but it's so useless. Prices are cosmic and what search engine finds are like part of medieval wall or single sword or axe. It looks unexplainably useless.

I guess there should be website where people would discuss about medieval topic and probably creating some models. Does anyone know similar sites?

Thanks, we getting much closer now. And prices looks much lower. Are there any similar website which would offer some of their models for free (like demo models or something) in this topic?

minnions, this one has almost nothing on medieval theme, compared what James and Archania found. Keep in mind that my top interest is medieval topic...

Some of the poser characters can be reduced with blender's decimate tool to make them low poly enough to use in Unity. Can export as Colladae from poser, import into blender and export as fbx to keep the rigs/animations.

I believe that Arteria3D and Dexsoft have a decent amount of medieval characters and structures

A quick search for medieval returned around 150 results - I haven't actually looked through the list though, so perhaps they weren't what you were looking for.

Anyway, the main reason I pointed out the site was because of this part of your question:
I don't know about 3docean specifically, but I use the other envato marketplace forums for requesting designs etc and always receive a good response - and they reject any bad-quality submissions.

I am definitely impressed by some of these other sites though. I'm bookmarking this thread

well, I mentioned that usually sites for general purpose has quite few models suitable for specific topic. Arteria3D, Dexsoft and Necturus looks to be brilliant examples from the first look, compared even with turbosquid in this case.

However, I find that some models I will probably be unable to find anywhere and I will need to create them on my own. I feel it quite challenging as I am quite bad artist in drawing them by hand. Software like 3dsmax, maya, mudbox and blender looks as a solution for that. But I am worried about specific things for Medieval topic, for example creating armour for knight could be challenging as it is not very popular to do so. So I was also interested if there are software, which would create characters and houses based on parameters (like age, height, etc - I have seen in some 1990 movies that police were modelling human faces based on some automatic parameters, like beard and hair styles, etc., so I think today such level software should be available).

To be more specific, I am interested into Age of Empires 2 style medieval models. At least for the beginning to have knight, archer and worker models with walking, fighting and working (for workers) animations. Here is my battle system, which currently uses cubes and capsules instead of animated models:

So if I would change these with models (at least knight and archer), it would be nice to see how archers are grouping and shooting arrows from distance, while knights are fighting from close distance in my system.

Oh, and by the way, if somebody is interested to help in my project, it would be greatly appreciated.

    @ Chanfort.

It's not that bad, you just have to be smart with it. I do RPG's where loot is king, for things like armor you may do 5 variations with UV's swapped out and finally have a couple of legendary's, I'd never try to make a new piece of armor for every model.
