Want to Improve Ability to Draw 2d sprites

    I'm a Programmer with very little experience drawing 2d sprites and I would like to improve. Does anyone have any suggestions for tutorials that would help someone with a very basic skillset such as myself? Right now I'm capable of drawing static 2d sprites with no animation to them and that's as far as my current skill set goes.

    I Also don't have access to programs such as Adobe Flash. I mainly use GIMP to draw 2d sprites.

    Well i am a programmer as well and i stumbled upon this blog not quiet long ago. A intuitive way of learning art , specially for programmers. Has helped me a lot .
