I want to enter the Windows 8 Contest that Unity is holding and I have been seeing that a lot of people are mentioning that you need visual studio or something. Is this true? Can I build a windows 8 app without the visual studio? I also have windows 8. Please explain to me what I need exactly. Thanks

You can just download the free Visual Studio Express from Microsoft.

Also, I have a quick question. Did you get the Unity Update? I didn't get it yet and there is no download link in the Unity website. Is it even out yet?? Thanks

You need Windows 8, Unity4.2 or later, and Visual Studio 2012 to build Windows Store Apps.

Yes, Visual Studio 2012 Express should work.

Sorry guys, but one laaaaast question. I was reading the terms and conditions and I saw this.......

Correct me if I'm wrong, but does this state that a minor could enter the competition if he/she signs up under a parent's name? Thanks

No, you enter under your own name but if you are a minor your parents need to sign those documents and send them.

In the first paragraph of the terms it says:

But it says that it is possible minors could win. Could I work with someone who is not a minor? Would that count?

My understanding of it is that you must be 18 years or older, but if in your country you are still a minor (e.g. in Japan you are a minor until the age of 20) then a parent / legal guardian will be able to claim the prize on your behalf.

But I'm not a lawyer so don't take this as truth, just my understanding of the terms and conditions.

Be safe, get your parents to sign up. And if you win get them to claim the prize.
