I'm writing Blender and Maya add-ons for creating and modifying character animations - can be your own clips, or Mixamo cycles. The add-ons allow unconstrained modification of a walking gait, and can provide feedback on the physical correctness of the current design. Useful if you'd like to modify a mocap gait and want it to remain physically plausible, and also for hand-animated walks.

There's a video on the Kickstarter website showing some examples (comments welcome):

I'm starting with a walking gait for humanoid biped characters, but work's already underway for doing running gaits, transitions, and for working with quadrupeds and other character topologies. I'm hoping this work will make it easier for Unity developers to do more and better character animations.

    Enjoy!
