    Hello,
I'm looking for some feedback on the art and visual style for a nature inspired game I have been working on. I have been doing all of the artwork myself and have no programmer so there is no real game play to see yet. As work progresses I will contribute more to this thread. I appreciate any comments!

Beautiful, artwork/lighting and nature is beautiful, but what's the game about? It could be a photography simulation :p

    Very nice work!

If it doesn't interfere with gameplay, perhaps you would like to add some subtle swaying animations to the plants and leaves to simulate a breeze. Dust particles might also add interesting atmosphere if used in some parts of the scene.

Thank you for the feedback! Optera will be a real time strategy game focusing on insects. I have been working on this project for about 19 months now. The bulk of my time has been experimenting with artwork, researching insects and their interaction with the world around them, and designing game play. Finding out how to combine all three of those has taken a lot of work!

Reading your feedback was very exciting after a year and a half of work. I have created some concepts to illustrate game play:

This is looking nice, I think you've nailed the art style. From the little you said about the actual game play, it reminds me of Sim Ant from the 90's.

Slogan idea for the game: "A view into a world beyond ours".

amazing art... great idea...i always wanted to look beyond our normal human world...this seems to be interesting, especially the artwork...how did you achieve this effect ,is it some kinda image effect or is it the shaders..?the second screenshot reminds me of "Botanicula"..

suggestion:- you can add some life to the level - a little movements ,sun shafts, dust particle, wind effect, water drops etc..

and what kinda gameplay are we having here?

Hello and thank you for the feedback. I have been slowly chipping away at this project for a long while now. I now have a website where I post updates on my progress. Please take a look and let me know what you think.
