I haven't used Unity for a few months but I've just come back to it to find that Intellisense is both not very intelligent, and not working very well in VS Code - with issues like functions not showing their parameters and such.
I am using the latest stable Unity build, and I've tried reinstalling VS Code and the extensions.

Any particular reason to use VS Code over the regular VS Community Edition? My only suggestion is to try the freely available community edition and it works pretty well for me.

I have had a similar problem where VS Code's IntelliSense would take a second or two to kick in properly and even then it didn't function quite right. I tried about the same things you've tried and nothing was corrected. Eventually I just gave up and switched back to VS Community which I already had installed.

VS Community is only available on Windows. VS Code was an excellent alternative for those of us who have (or want) to work on other OSes. Like Linux where there aren't very many good options outside of normal text editors.

What about installing VS with WINE (and Unity as well while we're there)?

Sorry I haven't replied, am busy with exams - I use Code because it's so lightweight - I hate how bloated normal VS is, and Code has and was working fine for me previously
