    Hi there.
We are VR-AR lab. We develop interactive projects which engages VR technologies.

Within our research direction we make different experiments and use them for searching different ways of moving and interaction in a virtual space.

    There are few videos.

Room H6 "The Cube" (Oculus Rift + iPhone)

The experiment demonstrates synchronization of real and virtual objects. Each rotation of the cube in real world leads to rotation of the virtual one.
Cube orientation data provided by sensors of a smartphone placed inside the cube.
When the ball hits the maze the phone vibrates and passes vibration to walls of the cube.

This prototype allows user just rotate the cube within virtual space, moving real cube left or right does not leads to offset the virtual one. However the feelings as if you are rotating the same cube which you see in the VR does not disappear even in case of those restrictions.

Experiment 8 "The Hauhet" (Oculus Rift + Leap Motion)

The experiment demonstrates combined usage of Oculus Rift and Leap Motion devices. Player selects fragment of the scene with direction of his view.

Experiment S3 "The Fall" (Oculus Rift + Kinect)

"The Fall" is one of the experiments by VRARlab, associated with spectacular movements in virtual space. The project combines Oculus Rift and Kinect. Developed with Unity 3D.

Interesting fact. All cases and demonstrations of the fall demo was conducted in close rooms. We had doubts if someone hits or drops equipment during the game. The field of tracking in real appeared to be not smaller than diameter of the tube in VR thus when the player reaches border of the tube it stops him from further movement outside.
The player so much engages into the VR scene so he seems wasn't be able to imagine possibility of crossing a border – the geometry of game level.

No one from few hundred players didn't cross the real gameplay zone.

Room 4F "The Fragmentation" (Oculus Rift)

Imagine a world taken to pieces. The room, the furniture – everything has burst to pieces hung in a blank emptiness. How can you put the pieces of the realityback together if you have no hands?

The task of the player is to understand that the position of the fragments changes along with the head movement. Every initial object has its own assemblage point, you just need to find it, focus and keep the balance. You should keep going until the space is restored.
