Visual Studio will not open! Crashes immedietly each time!

    So, recently, out of nowhere, Unity has just been incapable of starting Visual Studio (Community 2015 blah blah). At first it started opening Monodevelop instead, leaving the loading bar for VS in suspense over the Unity editor, so I deleted Monodevelop completely and have made sure that Unity is set to open VS. Any time I go to open one of my C# scripts the loading bar begins, hangs at about 30%, VS opens momentarily and then just crashes (and sometimes Unity along with it). I have even guided my 'preferred' program for scripts to the VS exe file and still... crash after crash.

    How can I fix this and why has it suddenly started happening? It started a couple of weeks ago, when VS would work at first, until I saved my project/scene in Unity and then VS would crash; but then a simple restart would fix the issue. Now, VS just refuses to open.

    And I don't see 'reinstalling' as a good option since it suddenly started happening through complete randomness and is likely to happen again... out of randomness. Something is causing it, so what is it and how do I fix it?

    same issue here
    after updating Visual studio 2015 Update 3 and uninstall some Windows 7 telemetry updates
    first it started opening Monodevelop instead of VS, now it opens VS but it closes immediately
    i will try to Repair VS installation and if the problem continues i will reinstall unity

    Fixed
    i manually uninstall almost every pluggin from the VS Tools/Extensions and Updates menu
    now everything works fine.

    To figure out which plugin cause the problem, i must reinstall them one by one, and then open unity/vs, bot i suspect the .NET core 1.0 update of VS 2015 Update3 (not sure)

    I am now getting the same thing, seemingly randomly in the middle of development, only for VS2017 Community. It crashes and loads MonoDevelop, which also gives errors. Even when VS2017 does not crash, it gives an error when I go to load a .cs file.

    I have the same issue yasterday started to crash and ends opening monodevelop some fix to this issue?
