Thank you!!! Means a lot to me!

Gonna submit it to Apple Store, hopefully in a few days, just finishing up on some art, ui, and some game mechanics.

Awesome job 8bit. That's what it's all about - release!
I followed your thread and I like the things you did in the polishing phase.

One question if you don't mind, were you testing on mobile (apple?) the entire time or was that one of your last steps you did, converting to mobile testing and controls.
I'm very interested in your process because I'm considering going the same route, but I don't want to "waste" money to test on apple products just to test at the end if it isn't a necessary requirement.
Can you give any insight on your dev and testing process at the end of your development cycle?

Thank you ANIMATOR! Keeping my fingers crossed not to get rejected for some reason :)

Well, I started testing on the actual iPhone 5s in the last 2 months of my development process, and I can tell you right now that I wish I started doing it earlier. First of all everything looks ALMOST exactly the same and runs pretty much the same on the iOS device as it does in the Unity editor, BUT.... when you build in Xcode and run it on the device and look at the CPU & GPU usage option, you can easily see where (if at all) you are having problems. Mine was CPU - average was 85% (that's just too much, for a simple game) so I had to change all of Instantiate and Destroy to Pooling system (which works perfectly) and I had to use Mobile Shaders, and a lot of other stuff, including optimizing 2D physics, etc. Plus couple of things didn't look the same as in the Unity Editor, minor things, but still .. for example layer rendering - had to fix that, and couple of animations didn't play on the iPhone, when they were playing perfectly in the editor - I still have no idea why that happened, I just had to remake them - and it worked.

My advice would be, start off by optimizing your project in Unity for mobile, there are a lot of docs on that. Sooner or later you have to test it on an actual iOS device, I was building for 16:9 (wide screen) that's iPhone 5, 5s, 6, 6s, and I tested on iPhone 5s and iPhone 6. Plus if you are doing In App Purchases or and Ads you wanna make sure they work properly.

    hope that somewhat helps :)

Hey 8bit there isn't an option under your members tag to start a conversation with you (PM). Your profile may be set to not receive PM messages. Sorry for off topic subjects in your thread.
