Recently two users of our game have reported issues with video playback on our game built in Unity 2020.1.17f1 that I am unable to reproduce or debug.

Out of the thousands of people that have played the game, to my knowledge these are the only two that are experiencing this issue, so I am wondering if there is something specific to their hardware, installed software, or operating system that may be causing the issue, or if this is a known issue that has perhaps been fixed in later versions.

All of the videos are encoded as h264 mp4s, and I can upload a sample of them if that is helpful to debug.

The errors are slightly different for the two users (see logs) but present like:

I have attached the relevant portions of the game's logs which show the errors, and I have also appended the user's Steam System Information report to the end of the log, hoping that those may give some additional insight.

Please let me know if there's any additional information that may be helpful to track down this issue.

Bump. We're experiencing this as well from our players. Unity 2021.3.12f1, same encoder.

Is it the same errors? Can you reproduce it locally?

Yep same error. We tried a few AMD cards locally (old and new) they didn't crash, although we did get an error even on Nvidia cards that didn't crash the game, it complained about something with the H264 encoding so we tried changing our videos in Unity to encode in VP8 and that error is also gone, so we're gonna submit that with our next update and hope it fixes the issues for our users.
