Question VFX graph additive blend mode looks incorrect in game view

    My particle effect looks great in the scene view, but in the game the same same effect looks very washed out. My hypothesis is that a threshold is put on how many particles can be overdrawn, resulting in a fewer particles being added together. Is there some way to get the look from the scene view in the actual game? I am using URP in unity 2021.3.15f1 and VFX graph 12.1.8. Below is an example of what I tried to describe:
