Bug Very high contrast and saturation on android build (LWRP)

    same here! 3d objects fixed but UI still much darker

    2020 will be released soon but we are still in 2018

    2019.3.b9 - still have this bug. In URP this bug was fixed with hooking up manual linear<->srgb conversion. But UGUI is still dark.

    Pleeeeeeeeeease fix this.

    OpenGLES3 + linear color space is extremely common.

    An interesting thing to note, phones that have vulkan ( even if you don't HAVE vulkan as a graphics api when you build it ) don't have the issue

    It's in 2020.1.0a15, I'm working on getting the fix into 2019.3.
    As I said earlier, will post here when it's there.

    Yes, our internal testing revealed that the bug is still there. I'll post here when the fix is available.

    Since you said that the problem was fixed, we went to 2019 and you left us in a very difficult situation.

    We have backups but we add lot of new features and our players waiting for release. Do you know when fix will be available ??

    Hi I am using 2019.2.17f1. I still got the issue. Forcing blit type to always by editing ProjectSettings asset fixed the issue though.
    Check Comment #23 in this thread.

    I worked around the issue in 2019.3.0f by switching the Color Space from Gamma to Linear. It stopped the terrain and similar objects from being displayed so darkly.

    We check in Unity 2019.3.0f5 and using linear color space. The colors of all the 3d stuff are correct but the whole UI part is still too dark.

    Same problem. 2019.3.0f6 URP UI dark in linear color space on Mumu Android emulator and possibly some android devices. No post-processing. I tested UI canvas with three render modes. Only the canvas in world space shows correct color.

    @MateAndor @FixItFelix on which devices do you see this behaviour? Have you forced blit type to anything other than 0? Are you using SRP at all? :)

    @aleksandrk I experience the same issue (dark UI) with LWRP/URP using color space linear on Sony Xperia Z, Adreno 320.

    I don't understand correcly but we are using native unity ui components to render ui. Render mode : Screenspace-Overlay

    I am using a screen space overlay canvas and then Images and TextMeshProUGUI.

    @Captain_Flaush I was not aware of any connection of this issue with TextMeshPro previously. Can you please report this bug and post the case number here?

    There is no connection with TextMeshPro, I was just saying what I am using to render the UI.

    Same problem on 2019.2.20, Xiaomi Redmi 4 Pro. Workaround in comment #23 worked.

    2019.2 is not going to receive a fix for this. Please upgrade to 2019.3.

    So, as far as I can tell, both the original issue (no color conversion for stuff rendered with LW/Universal RP) and the second issue (no color conversion for UGUI) have indeed been fixed in 2020.1.0a15 and in 2019.3.0f4. Neither I nor our QA can reproduce those issues anymore.

    It seems that those of you who say it's not fixed are hitting a separate bug. Can you please file a bug report?

    We Just now created a new fresh clean project on 2019.3.1f1 with Universal Project Template. only added a sprite to canvas, switched platform to android and removed Vulkan from graphics apis list and build to device (Samsung J7 MAX (sm-g615f)) and result is 3d stuffs ok but sprite is much darker.

    I really don't understand how you couldnt reproduce this issue ??????

    The bug report for the UI was about IMGUI, and did not contain any sprites. Sprites use a different shader.

    There are bigger problems than this error. Since we released our Game in unity 2019, we have started to receive a lot of crash reports from google and the sources of crashes are unity libraries.

    We dont release yet but have some weird crashes in dev builds on 2019.3
    Make crash reports for these crashes :)

    Hi! Could you please report this bug and post the case number here? Would be great if you attach the screenshots to the bug report of expected and actual results.
    Also, maybe you found more devices affected by this bug? Or just Samsung Galaxy J7 MAX ?
