Vertex lit - rim light - multi layered toon material?

    Hello everyone-

    I created this video explaining the aim of a material i´m trying to create. In Softimage it´s a breeze, but I don´t know if anyone here has the experience to translate that into Unity.

    I constructed the material look on photoshop. Idealistically I was going to take the bake-light approach on this character (since she´s toon) but later I made up my mind, that she would look nicer as she "explores" the level of the game I´m placing her into, with dark and light zones. Thus coloring or making the material react to those.

    I know there´s the strumpy shader editor, but I can´t get the hang of it. Is there´s a way to compose and control the colors on the shader and textures inside Unity? $Dynamic_Shading_short.jpg . Has anyone dealt with this approach before?

    Don´t mind the narration on the video, I was in urge of going out to lunch
