Version Control for document?

    for the project source, it's git of course. but how about the game document? for now, we just duplicate the doc files, and it's hard to find what is changed between versions, especially for small details. Do you have any suggestion?

    Any CMS solution should be able to handle this.

    There's also no reason typical source code version control couldn't be used for documents as well.

    It can be used for documents, but it's a little more tedious if you want to directly compare changes.

    Yeah, only mentioned it because software developers may choose to just use the tools they know, even if sub-optimal, rather than have everyone learn another tool.

    Google docs.
    Or if you do use your current VCS, you can use a raw text or rich text format and you should be able to easy compare/diff right in your VCS tool.

    We're using Joomla. Installation was a few clicks and it's a bit easier to deal with than Docs for version comparison and can be hosted locally or on a server.

    Google Docs lost a lot of my personal documents a couple weeks back, so I have a hard time recommending them.
