    @JamesArndt I must be reading different messages then because I thought he explained it all very nicely. And he offered to provide the beta right now to current owners. I'm not sure what more you can ask for at this point.

    I have jotted down all the people who have requested beta so far.

    I am just wrapping up with the documentation. The documentation will be very simple and wont go into much detail about anything to save time. If you will have any questions, just leave them here or send me a PM.

    I will start sending copies of v2.0 beta later tonight.

    v2.0 has been developed/tested on Unity 5.4.6

    I will test with later versions over the course of finishing the beta.

    Yeah I see that now. Just a lot of noise I think unrelated to the asset itself and I missed it in there somehow, kept going back. I stand by statements earlier which are:

    Where is the V2 development currently at, what are the current impediments to getting it released in a reasonable time frame, why the vanishing act? We as customers deserve more transparency in what is really going on here. Last year it was very close, within days of release...then it became very close to release again and again. Usually it was "one" last thing that needed wrapped up or fixed and then launch. We were discussing V2 release last year in the fall and here we sit in February of 2018 and no news as to why? As a loyal customer expecting support of the product for improvements where does this leave me? It leaves me in the dark. I've had multiple people message me privately about this asset...either to help them resolve their issues with it or to not hold out hope for that V2 release.

    I've deleted my prior small "noise" posts as well and will just leave this here in place.

    At the moment, v2.0 BETA is just a few hours away.

    Towards the end of last year, I was going through some pretty tough times hence why I was away for over a month. These were mainly personal issues that stopped me from concentrating on RGSK or anything else related to game development.

    2017 in short, was a very hard and complicated year for me. As you can tell, I struggled to get the update complete. It's times like last year where I wish I had a team to work with.

    I'm hoping for a better things this year, especially a rapid development of RGSK. Beta is only the beginning of greater things for RGSK. I have quite a lot of things planned for this asset this year.

    Again, I apologize for any inconvenience I may have caused.

    With v2.0 beta now released and out of the way, there are many things that I will be working to fix and resolve.

    If you have received a copy of v2.0 BETA, expect a better product than v1.1.0a but please do not expect a finished product. There will be bugs, problems and design flaws that may disrupt your development.

    Expect there to be multiple beta patches over the next few days or weeks as we work a way towards a better racing game asset.

    Can i test it directly on unity 2017.3 ie. latest version and report the bugs that i face..?

    I think that you should test it on the latest version to let the developer know about any specific compatibility issues.

    Yeah, that would be good.

    I will make a video with some assets from the asset store showcasing how you can set up a race scene with v2.0 beta. I understand the documentation is very shallow and may leave some people stumped as to how to set up a race scene.

    yea like how to add more car to Vehicle menu, and add AI car to race... found a few bugs.. will report them all here soon..

    Vehicles from the menu scene are loaded from a vehicle database.
    The vehicle database can be located in the "Demos/Demo 1/Data" folder. Add a new element to the list and fill in the details, each vehicle requires a Player vehicle, AI vehicle and Menu vehicle. The menu vehicle is simply a version of the Player car with no scripts.

    To add more AI to a race scene, select the Race Manager and under "General Settings", add the opponent count.

    To add more AI vehicles, select the "AI Settings" tab in the Race Manager and add more AI vehicles to the array.

    There will most probably be many of those.

    when I restart race these are the errors i get. Unity 2017.3 latest version.



    When I start the Championship mode, it takes me to the demo race scene and gives this error

    Yes, championships should be working fine.

    Wow, there seems to be some serious incompatibles with Unity versions past 5.4.6.

    I will take a look at resolving these issues.

    looks like InputManager gets deleted and all the references are lost...

    I have also tested v2 on Unity 2017.3 and in my case, there was no error on the console but the input didn't worked. Also the spawning direction for some cars was fine but for some cars, it was all messed up.

    P.S - All of the above information is based on the demo scene.

    Not to worry though, I will work with Unity 2017 to resolve these issues.

    i can get 2 play with it no errors but i put no ui up yet just a 30seconds demo

    It's a great update, I'm using Unity 2017.1.0f3 and other than the Lighting Box issue, everything is working really well. You did a great job of improving the AI, physics and the editors, keep it up!

    I've checked demo on 2017.3
    Championship are not working
    The only failure i found was in replay - particles are not reverting while rewind. Smoke stays in place in which it was generated before car reached this place.

    Uh damn. What the heck? These vehicle physics and the camera motion look top notch. I might have to rescind my earlier gripes. I'm sure there are bugs to be sorted, but this is looking very much improved.

    Keep up the good work!

    It will be good to keep track what the different platforms that developers are building for. It will be interesting to know what percentage are using mobile platforms rather than desktop.

    This is a tough one as I am not sure how I would include particle systems to the replay system.

    Quite a few things are missing from the replay system but we'll get to the point where the replay system is top notch by the end of the beta phase.

    Yes, currently I have only tested on Windows and Android platforms. I'm guessing there may be issues with other platforms but nothing we can't fix :)

    I was thinking of this. I will definitely have to test against 2018.1 too.

    ok in the race demo scene in Input manager game object select dont destroy on load option, it solves the game restart controls not working,,, its unchecked by default.
