    Hello,

Whenever I add a third party asset from the asset store, I get all kinds of extra stuff I dont use under the "project" pane. For example, when I added the Oculus Tools, I get all kinds of demo's, assets I don't use, materials etc.

Do I need to remove all that stuff when I build my final project or does Unity know what is in use what isn't. Its hard to keep my project organized to only the things I need. For example, now when I search my code, the search includes all these Oculus demo source that I dont really want in my project. It just makes searching my own code harder.

    What am I doing wrong?

Unity knows and strips away any assets you don't use.

So no, you don't need to remove that stuff; but you may want to just to keep your project from getting bloated. (Just your project, not your build — makes no difference to the build.)

Well, one problem I have is with GIT. All that stuff is just added to my GIT hub, and thats a waste. But is this common practice for unity development?
