I am very new to this - but not software in general - having just installed Unity this week and am looking at it and learning the architecture.

I notice that there used to be a choice of Mono Develop as the text editor, but now it appears that only Visual Studio 2019 is supported.

I have used VS a lot over the decades, and it does a lot for you - but it is a major memory hog. Just sitting here with one short file open, it is using 405MB. The rest of Unity is much less than that.

I do not have enough memory to cope with this. Is there any way of going back to Mono Develop and still having auto-complete etc?
