Using GUI in Unity 5

Hey guys I am having some trouble doing this part of the Space Shooter Tutorial: http://unity3d.com/learn/tutorials/projects/space-shooter/counting-points because he is adding a GUI text and it has changed now with Unity 4.6 and Unity 5. Since I am new to Unity I was wondering how I should be adding this GUI text or if I should be doing something different?

 

The old GUI system is still fine, you can use it
