Bug URP 12.1.8+ no shadows on Android Device

    Hello everyone, we have encountered a problem since URP version 12.1.8 and higher (Unity 2021.3.14 and higher), shadows do not work on android devices. They simply do not exist, when returning to URP 12.1.7 (Unity 2021.3.13), the shadows are displayed correctly and work. Can someone know how to solve the problem?

    Maybe try the latest version?
    And see if the android urp asset has shadows enabled

    We can't upgrade to Unity 2022, and for 2021 the latest version is 12.1.10. And what is Android URP asset? We have shadows enabled, they work in the editor, including on the latest version of Unity 2021, but they do not work in the build, unless you roll back to the 12.1.7 version of URP

    Sorry, I meant the latest 2021 version. 12.1.10
    And by default android uses a different quality preset/urp asset. Check the quality settings

    All settings are correct, shadows are enabled. There is no difference between 12.1.7 and 12.1.10 in terms of shadow settings. It's just that they are in the build on 12.1.7, but not in 12.1.8 and higher. And there are no explanations for this phenomenon.

    Can you send a screenshot of the URP asset as well?

    Only things I can think of would be:
    1. Put cascade count at 1, Cascades has an issue sometimes with custom shaders
    2. Maybe decrease shadow distance and see if that fixes it
    3. Maybe it's an issue with the custom renderers? You could try a new blank project and compare settings. If you can reproduce it in the blank project you can make a bug report for it to be fixed

    Thank you very much! It turned out that the package of third-party shaders does not support UDP 12.1.8+ in terms of shadows, although it is stated otherwise. We will deal with them. Thanks again for the help

    Hi, have you solved this issue by chance? We are getting this issue with some of our own shaders and are not sure what to do about it.
