    I am trying to get a new build out ASAP, but just recently started getting this crash. Everything was working fine for quite a few builds I made this week, but now all of the sudden it is failing every time. I am building for Android if that matters.

    I got the same in stacktrace, it keeps crashing the editor in build. Did you ever manage to resolve this?

    If I recall correctly, this was caused by some shaders that had compile errors. But also it may have been some bad meta files. Not sure exactly. I made a few changes at once and it worked after that.

    I'm facing the same issue all of a sudden. A shader which has not changed for months is now apparently causing this assertion. Rebuilding the entire library, deleting the shader's meta file, making small changes to the shader, updating Unity from 2021.3.8 to 2021.3.12, nothing fixes it so far. Both Android and Windows builds are crashing on this. Desperately in need of a solution!

    Edit: Reverting the Meta Avatars SDK to v16 from v18 resolved the issue - nothing to do with the shader it was compiling at the time of the crash. I need to be able to update, though.

    If anyone with Avatars v18 comes across this, the fix is to comment out line 152 of AvatarUnityLighting.cginc. It has a shader compiler error which you only see when you compile the Horizon shader manually. This causes the assertion crash on build when your lightmap stripping settings are set to the attached. Bug report IN-22586.
