Upgrade From Subscription to Perpetual Licence

    So I need pro right now for a project I'm working on, and I'm not a big fan of the subscription model. On the other-hand I don't wanna drop 1.5k when Unity5 close around the corner. If I start a subscription now, once Unity 5 comes out, if I buy a perpetual licence, am I no longer obligated to pay the subscription?

    From the FAQ, "New customers can pre-order Unity Pro 5.0 for $1500 and immediately get Unity Pro 4.X for immediate use". Naturally pre-ordering will give you Unity Pro 5.0 once it is officially released, but additionally you'll be given access to the beta.

    You can't buy a Unity 4 license anymore; you can only buy a Unity 5 license (which also works with Unity 4 and 3).

    Buying Unity Pro gives you access to older releases? The pre-order statement left me with the impression it was only the previous release.

    Yes, all previous releases, including probably 2 and 1, though I haven't tested that.
