I bought this, and it does look really good. Thanks Svchost74! I'm using it under Unity 5.3.3, and I put roads on it with EasyRoads3D. The roads look great with the mountain terrain. It's fun to zoom around the lake. EasyRoads3D is easy at first to use, but there are some funky things about how the editor works. I have version 2 and there is a version 3, we'll have to see if he's fixed it. My biggest complaint is whenever you change anything in the EasyRoads Editor, then make it repave the road, it goes back and gets the ORIGINAL terrain geometry. If I have done any work manually, it nullifies that work, very frustrating. Sorry for mentioning that here, I just thought others may want to know.

Still I'm happy MOSTLY with this Mountain Lake level. After working with it for a while, I had 2 problems to fix. I have solved one problem but I still have another issue to solve.

SOLVED: Distant textures (terrain materials) pop because the distance from the camera exceeds the built in LOD control for terrains in Unity. You can exceed the maximum with a script, and fix this. Let me know if you need it.

UNSOLVED: The trees POP at weird angles while flying overhead. My app is a flight sim. This is a beautiful place to fly, but I need these popping tree angles fixed.... something to do with perspective correction? Anyone know how to fix this or where to look?

REQUEST: I also bought a streaming terrain tool but haven't worked with it yet. Does anyone know if it's possible to stream this zone for a flight sim? I know the distant mountains are simplified terrain with just a simple Geometry and POM material.... Is there any suggestions for streaming for larger terrains?

    Thanks

Alpine Zone Shader Problem.jpg Mountain Lake is a beautiful zone and I am using it as one the zones for my flight simulator.

I have a problem with the shader.... IT IS more prevalent in the latest Unity build.... 5.4 pro.

The attached picture shows the problem, the terrains seem to have an alpha component or ?? In the pic, the camera is looking directly at the rock of a terrain, but you can see the trees behind it.... see how they match up near the top where you should see the trees.....

Have you seen this? The material for the terrain is a custom shader, so can you fix this?

Is there any way in the terrain shader to help out with distance tiling. Looks very repeated in the distance. A UV tiling like RTP does would be great to help out with that.
