updated 4.6 19 on Lenovo laptop and now laptop does not boot :-)

Hi,
I just updated to the newest Unity 4.6 beta version and now the laptop does not start. The first screen, prior to Windows, comes up briefly but the the laptop close down after like one or two seconds. As I cannot get any response from the laptop before it turns off i guess the only option is to try to secure the data from the hd and reinstall. Dunno what to do.

Biggest problem is that it is my laptop for work and i have been developing on it during trips etc. normally using a MBP.

Have you tried starting up Windows in Safe Mode?
- Start your computer in safe mode

sounds like hard drive failure, which isn't unity's fault but the straw that broke the camel's back.

 

tried this but it does not get to the windows screen so it does not work pressing f8 :-(

 

Agree but the strange thing is that the laptop is pretty new and it is after/during the upgrade of Unity :-(
