UnrwapCL.exe has stopped working when Generate Lightmap UVs for models

    This is a consistent bug I've been encountering recently after updating to unity 2017.

    To reproduce the bug:
    Import model from blender > unity
    Enable Generate Lightmap UVs on model (any settings)

    Half of the time it works and generates my uvs, later I'll go to edit the model which will then cause it to recalculate lightmap UVs for the model and I get the error UnrwapCL.exe has stopped working. Once I get to this point where a particular model causes this error it is 100% producible. I can take that model causing the error into another unity project and click generate Lightmap UVs and the error pops up again UnwrapCL.exe has stopped working.

    Hello, i had this problem too... I've tried to reinstall unity, re-import assets, re-install windows, clear GI cache and tons of other stuff... nothing is working. I've also deleted my entire project and download it via collaborate and it still doesn't work.

    The one thing that solved my problem was, that i had a backup on a MacBook Pro with OSX, download it to a flash drive and then open it with my Unity 2017 with the UnrwapCL.exe problem... Then problem was solved... I can't tell you why but this was the only way that did the trick. It's a HUGE bug in the end of Unity 2017.

    P.s the UnwrapCL.exe is not working only for your older .fbx files. If you re-export them with the latest .FBX format and import them clear in Unity they should work.

    I'm not sure what you mean. You said .fbx file but im using .blend files? Maybe I need to update blender and see if that fixes the export.

    Oh okay I see what you're saying, .fbx is a file type blender can export but I've always just used the straight up .blend file. I tried saving my .blend file as a .fbx instead at I no longer get the error. Hmm not sure whats causing the issue here then.

    Hi I am having the same problem, unwrapcl crashes straight away after check generate uvs, then apply. Tried numerous things... has anybody found a solution? Thanks

    I am, having the same issue when I go from edit to Build Mode in Easy Roads. Basically when I build the road network I get the error. Any pointer appreciated, thanks.
