We at TerraVision have been working on a game for the 100th Anniversary of the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) for the last 6-9 months, and it is now officially out.

Called "The Battle for the Future", the game starts off after an anti-technology-group has sabotaged the university's main research. The player takes on the role of the rector, and sets out to rectify the misdeeds, before using the research results to fight the group's efforts to use the supercomputer to spread a virus to the rest of the world's technological universities.

The game is meant as part of the general publicity/marketing campaign for the anniversary, but is naturally targeted a bit more towards prospective students and others in the sub-professor-age demographic. That being said, the launch was marked by a battle between the rectors of NTNU and University of Oslo (Norway's two largest, most prestigious and oldest universities). The two principles fought to get the best time in the game, and luckily for us, the local headmaster won by a fair margin. This special launch also gathered a bit of attention in national and local web and TV news: national broadcaster NRK reports (in Norwegian).

We have also posted some more background on our blog: blog.terravision.no.

The game is available in both Norwegian and English, on the NTNU website, here:
