This is the team who developed the Game Design Document for Jaws The Videogame.

The team was not given a chance to have their say after the disqualification by Unity and now responds.

The group talks about what happened with the Unity GameDev Challenge and how they are looking to overcome the incident.

You keep using the phrase "the team" but with how you showed up out of nowhere and are using the same username as the people who uploaded the video would it be accurate to say you're part of the team? Or are you the interviewer?

That’s a really long video, watched a little bit, but not sure what the point is.

Yeah 40 minutes to say they got disqualified because they used a screen shot from a published game on steam.
They altered the image a bit and put a hud they designed over it.

I dont know what the rules were. I think they thought they couldnt use actual Jaws owned images, but other found images would be ok. They didnt want to ask an artist to do original work for free.

Isn't this the team that submitted a screen shot of the game "Depth" as their own, just with their own UI slapped on top of it, in violation of the rules of the contest?

On the blog, unity said the rules prohibited use copyrighted materials in submissions. They used an image they didn’t have the rights to. They were disqualified. Not sure why 40mins are required to explain that.

Yes, I am part of the team. Thanks for asking. We just wanted the community to hear our side of the story.

We speak about how it was handled. Not necessarily the disqualification. We can accept that. However, we believe that it could have been handled much better.

You know what you could have handled much better?

Not ganking the hard work of others.

How it was handled seems pretty irrelevant really. It doesn’t change the outcome. Take is as a lesson and move forward.

Most definitely. The lesson has been learnt and we are now moving forward to make more awesome games we plan to push on Kickstarter.

Lessons learnt Murgilod. We shall be making our own projects to shine in the game development world and for the players who would love to experience it. And I'm sure we will have our fair share of persons using it for reference.
