So what you're trying to tell me is...

Old Unity Cube — you're okay dude. New Unity Die — oh my.

    ... Or something?

I acknowledge that the rhyme is not fully grammatically correct. :(
But I'll keep working on it so that we all know which noodl—I mean Unity is safe to touch. ;)

To be frank I'm not blaming the designer, in front of clients, you gotta do what you gotta do, they have the final say. More than one designer got sour after clients choose the dumb options they made to made other options looks good. And then you have to actually defend that option because that's how you pay bills. That's how you get insane description because you run out of stuff to say, like it's actually 3d, it's a dynamic icon made of parallel line that scream static, whatever the clients want to hear. Often you see some of them leaving a 6 figures job to go broke so they can follow their passion... Any artists know a friend like that.

I agree with not blaming the designer by default, but your example scenario still has the designer doing at least three things... poorly. :)

This is true to many things, including software engineering and game development too. Not just artists and graphics designers.

Ah, the good old Unity products we know and love, including but not limited to: Unity Forma, Mars and Metacast! Now with a fresh coat of paint. What a time to be alive.

I don't really like that the logo is shaded, I feel like if they're going more minimalist they should drop the shading as it just looks ugly. I have a few ideas here upload_2021-11-9_12-45-41.png

I think that the logo does not look very nice. I would have thought of something else. This color scheme is not particularly suitable, and every color has its meaning. When you create a logo is an important point, which can not be overlooked. Numerous studies have long been proven that the color component has a significant impact on the human brain, and if you pick up the shade with these features, it will improve visual perception. The brand will evoke the desired associations, which will lead to an expanded audience. When I created my brand logo, I didn't consider these points at first either, but then I have suggested the brand palette, and I solved this problem with the color of the logo.

I really like the new logo. Big improvement compared to the old one imo :)
