Our team has several XNA projects in the Windows 8 Store that we would MUCH rather host in Unity when the new Windows 8 Metro support module arrives. And, yes, I said XNA, under MonoGame, under SharpDX. It does work, but is tedious, to say the least, and feels like walking backwards after a time spent in Unity.

In any case, one thing we have noticed is for our non-game apps, such as some of our visualization and utility apps that leverage 3D but are not games, Microsoft is requiring a settings pane implementation for "About", "Support", and, if ads are present, "Privacy Policy". Microsoft also has required an app bar implementation for some options in our apps, which makes sense. It is all in keeping with Microsofts's commitment to the Windows 8 Metro theme and features.

Will Unity support the settings pane and app bar for Windows 8 Metro apps? If not, apps other than games may not be able to be submitted from Unity to the Windows 8 App Store as Metro apps.

    Thanks,

    Kevin @ KidsAndI Software

Any news on if Unity Windows 8 will support Metro features such as the Settings Pane and Charm buttons that Microsoft is requiring for non-game apps?
