It's a known issue that the majority of the official tutorial projects on here are out of date and don't work, it's unlikely admin will do anything though.

I have the same problem. Something is visibly broken in the JS that loads in the page.

    Hi guys, I fix that.

Hi al-pardeux. I got too the same JS errors in Google Chrome.

The trick to fix it is to go back to the "Unit 1 - Player Controller" tutorial, and in the last part of this tutorial "Hints and solution walkthrough", press the button "Continue without submitting or marking complete" after it opens "Unit 2 - Basic Gameplay" without problems. Hope it works for you.

Oh, wow, yikes... really? I've been spending hours shaking with frustration at the Beginners tutorial flow. I was boggled that it could be so confusing, out of date and broken. And this is all well known, you say? Well known, for a long time, and with no prospect of a fix? Lordy.

I guess those Unity Intro videos that stress the importance of patience and persistence are not kidding. Maybe it's a test? Like, if you want to work with this tool, here's a taste of what that will be like as you find yourself scurrying off to the Internet every few minutes to figure out why this or that piece of the Tutorial makes no sense.

I guess I'm... glad I know? I mean, I get it. Software development is expensive and with a project the size and complexity of Unity, carving out resources to keep the Tutorial system functional is always going to be difficult. But hoy howdy, it is a a sobering splash of ice water in the face to try to get started and discover you are on your own a lot earlier than you thought.

Yeah there's plenty of tutes on YouTube. or if you can afford to pay a bit, have a look at coursera.org, Udemy.com or Zenva.com, I subscribe to all 3 and there's some good stuff, Zenva's a bit expensive though, $186 a year for full access to ALL the courses, $20 for each individual course.

    Hi ya all!
I've got the same problem and was already desperate to fix it.
Found this thread and tried to fix with Aerodynamisk solution, but no luck.
So I tried Aerodynamisk fix not in "Unit 1 - Player Control" section, but in "Introduction and project management" section.
I returned back to project management section and manually mark all steps as incomplete, then clicked "Continue without marking complete" and it works.
P.S. But I have to mention that before fixing this I've already completed "Tutorial - Lesson 2.1" accessing it by direct link from other forum post. So after fix I moved to "Tutorial - Lesson 2.2" section.
    Here's the link: https://learn.unity.com/tutorial/lesson-2-1-control-player-bounds-with-if-then-statements

Hope it will help someone else. Good luck! And shame to Unity for broking most fundamental courses.
