Hi, as the title says, the 3ds max vert count for my building is at 9k after welding my verts, but on unity it's still saying 27k in the preview window, anyone know why?

It will depend also onyour uv mapping, vertex colors, smoothing groups.

    Try a simple cube:
In Max it has 8 vertices.
    In Unity it has 6 sides * 4 verts = 24 vertices,
because each side of the cube is considered as a "detached" plane and therefore needs 4 vertices.

    It is called "vertex splitting"...

That is the basic principle, but will be a lower number if you limit the amount of UV seams.
