I am trying to figure out what something is called, so it has been difficult to google. I am looking for some help to at least get to the point that I know what this is called and if it can be done in the free version of unity.

What I am looking for is how can I create a flowchart style configuration for a script kind of liek what the animator has. I have seen other use this like in the image below:

What is this style of GUI control called and how are they implementing it in code? Any help would be appreciated as I have a few scripts that would benifit from this style of configuration.

For the Dialogue System's editor, I started with the basic node editor code provided by utmechanic. I then customized it by adding a grid background and other bells and whistles to make it look like the Mecanim Animator canvas. If you have the Dialogue System, you can find the source code in Scripts/Core/Editor/Dialogue Editor/Conversation Node Editor. You can do it all in Unity free.

Perfect. Thank you both for your replys. The Dialog system is a nice looking tool. The concept I wanted to use it for is for an item based configuraiton (in game items) but the UI concept will work nicely. The links help a lot, and knowing what it is called is a big help as well.

Tony - I hope you dont mind that I linked your image, it is a great example of the node style editor. And thanks for pointing out that it can be done in free as well.
